BEFORE TREATMENT

Instructions

  • Sun Protection: Protect the skin from direct sun exposure for at least a week. When outside, wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
  • Gentle Skincare: Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer for the first few days. Avoid any skincare products with active ingredients like retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or vitamin C until the skin has fully healed.
  • Avoid Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours after the treatment to prevent skin irritation.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help the skin heal and rejuvenate.
  • No Excessive Heat: Avoid saunas, hot baths, and strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours post-treatment.
  • Avoid Touching: Try not to touch the treated area unnecessarily. The hands can introduce bacteria to the healing skin.
  • No Picking: If the skin starts to flake or peel, do not pick at it. Let it naturally exfoliate.
  • Hydrating and Calming Products: Consider using products with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, or other hydrating and calming ingredients to soothe and moisturize the skin.
  • Avoid Alcohol-Based Toners: For at least a week post-treatment, steer clear of toners or products that contain alcohol, which can dry out and irritate the skin.

 Absolute Contraindications

  • Active Skin Infections: Any active bacterial, viral, or fungal infections in the treatment area, such as herpes simplex.
  • Skin Cancer: Microneedling should not be performed on areas with skin cancer or a history of skin cancer.
  • Active Acne: Active acne or other pus-filled skin conditions can spread bacteria across the face during microneedling.

 Relative Contraindications

  • Pregnancy: Microneedling is generally not recommended for pregnant women due to a lack of research on its safety during pregnancy.
  • Keloid or Hypertrophic Scarring: Individuals with a history of keloid or hypertrophic scars may be at risk of developing such scars after microneedling.
  • Blood Disorders: Individuals with bleeding disorders or those on anticoagulant medications might be at increased risk of bruising or bleeding.
  • Recent Radiation Therapy: Skin that has recently undergone radiation therapy can be more sensitive and might not heal as well.
  • Use of Certain Medications: Some medications, such as isotretinoin (used for severe acne), can affect skin healing and may increase the risk of complications.
  • Autoimmune Diseases: Conditions like lupus or scleroderma might affect the healing process.
  • Recent Chemical Peels or Laser Treatments: It’s advisable to wait until the skin has fully healed from these treatments before undergoing microneedling.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Microneedling at Perfect B

When it comes to Microneedling, not all tools are created equal. We proudly use the SkinPen, a trusted brand by Crown Aesthetics. Recognized for its precision and effectiveness, the SkinPen ensures a safe and efficient treatment, delivering results that truly transform.

Why Microneedling? The Science Behind the Magic

Microneedling is more than just a beauty trend; it’s a science-backed method to rejuvenate your skin from within. By creating micro-injuries, the treatment promotes collagen production, reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and large pores. Experience the magic of revitalized skin today.

Duration of results

The results of Microneedling can last for several months to years, depending on the individual’s skin and the quality of their post-treatment skincare routine. However, the natural aging process continues, so maintenance treatments are often recommended every 6-12 months to preserve and enhance the results.

Downtime

Downtime after a Microneedling treatment typically refers to the period during which the skin is healing and may not look its best. Here’s what you can generally expect:

  1. Immediate Aftermath (24-48 hours post-treatment)
    • The skin may appear red and swollen, similar to a sunburn.
    • There might be some pinpoint bleeding immediately after the procedure, but this usually subsides quickly.
    • The skin may feel tight, sensitive, and warm to the touch.
  2. Following Days (2-7 days post-treatment):
    • The redness will start to subside after the first couple of days.
    • Some patients may experience skin peeling or flaking as the skin undergoes a rapid renewal process.
    • Minor bruising and skin sensitivity can occur but are less common.
  3. After One Week:
    • Most of the visible side effects should have subsided.
    • The skin will start to look and feel rejuvenated.
